We are very happy to release the song “Woman” by John Lennon, with a small personal variation in the chorus. Because we slightly changed the refrain, we needed to license the song, and we are grateful that we received permission from the legal representative to release it in this form.
This musical masterpiece marked the beginning of my connection to music. When I was 11 years old, I heard Woman for the first time. It left a strong impression on me and became an important early musical memory.
My father had a cassette filled with songs from many different bands and musicians. One day, I randomly put it into my cassette recorder, and John Lennon’s Woman immediately stood out to me. I asked my father who the artist was — that was the first time I heard John Lennon’s name.
From that point on, I began listening to music more and more. After coming home from school, I would often put on vinyl records and cassettes and sing along.
At that time, I didn’t speak any English and couldn’t understand the lyrics. I could only imitate the sounds I heard. While this was sometimes frustrating, it also allowed me to slowly become familiar with another language throughout my childhood.
I hope you enjoy the version we created, and that we were able to treat this remarkable song with the respect it deserves.
Lyrics:
Woman, I can hardly express
My mixed emotions and my thoughtlessness
After all, I’m forever in your debt
And woman, I will try to express
My inner feelings and thankfulness
For showing me the meaning of success
So well, yeah
Doo doo doo, doo doo doo ooh
Well, yeah
Doo doo doo, doo doo doo ooh
Woman, I know you understand
The little child inside the man
Please remember my life is in your hands
And woman, hold me close to your heart
However distant don’t keep us apart
After all it is written in the stars
Oh well, yeah
Doo doo doo, doo doo doo ooh
Well, yeah
Doo doo doo, doo doo doo ooh
Woman, please let me explain
I never meant to cause you sorrow or pain
So let me tell you again and again and again
I love you
Doo doo doo, doo doo doo oohI love you
Doo doo doo, doo doo doo ooh
